Building Animal Shelters
Age: 3-5 PSC/GD
Secondary Age: 5-10 OSC
Curriculum Area: Science
Developmental Goal/Activity Objective: To practice science and engineering skills while learning about winter animals.
Materials Needed:
1. Marshmallows
2. Toothpicks
3. Animal toys
Procedures/Strategies:
a. Discuss different winter animals and where they are likely to live.
b. Using toothpicks and marshmallows build shelters for each animal.
c.Animal toys may be used as props and to be put in the shelters that are built.
