Hot Air Balloon Cup and Plate Craft
Age: 3-5 PSC/GD
Secondary Age: 1-3 IT, 5-10 OSC
Curriculum Area: Art
Developmental Goal/Activity Objective: To practice creative art skills.
Materials Needed:
1. Paper plate
2. Plastic or styrofoam cup
3. String
4. Tape
5. Decorations for the balloon (washi tape, foam shapes, scrap paper, etc.)
6. Glue and scissors
Procedures/Strategies:
a. Allow children to decorate their paper plate however they would like. They can collage it using miscellaneous materials or you can let them colour or paint the plates.
b. Attach two pieces of string to each side of the plate using tape.
c. Attach the end ends of the string to each side of the cup.
d. Optional: you can also decorate the cup.
