Painting Snow

Curriculum Area: Motor Skills
Developmental Goal/Activity Objective: To practice sensory motor skills through play.
Materials Needed:
1. Snow
2. Water
3. Food colouring
4. Paint brushes
5. Plastic bin
Procedures/Strategies:
a. On a day that snows, collect snow from outside into a plastic bin.
b. Mix water with various colours of food colouring and place those in small containers.
c. Give children the water/food colouring mixtures, paint brushes and the snow bin and let them paint the snow.
Guidance and Safety Considerations:
Food colouring may stain, take necessary precautions to keep clothes clean.
