Father’s Day Best Dad Trophy
Compass Enlightenment: This activity supports emotional expression, gratitude, and creativity as children honor someone special in their lives. By designing a thoughtful gift, children practice reflecting on personal relationships and expressing appreciation through hands-on art.
Age: 5-10 OSC

Development Goal:
- Emotional Intelligence: Activities that build self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation.
Activity Objective: To create a meaningful Father’s Day gift while encouraging children to express appreciation and build self-confidence through art and giving.
Materials Needed:
• Paper or styrofoam cup
• Yellow construction paper
• Yellow paint
• Paintbrush
• Marker
• Glue
• Scissors
Procedures/Strategies:
1. Paint the entire cup yellow, including the inside, and set it aside to dry.
2. Cut out two trophy-style handles from yellow construction paper to fit the cup.
3. Cut a yellow circle to match the size of the cup’s opening.
4. Once the cup is dry, write “World’s Best Dad” on the front with a marker.
5. Glue the circle to the bottom of the cup as the trophy base.
6. Attach the handles on either side of the writing.
7. Optional: Fill the trophy with small gifts or use it as a pencil holder.
Guidance and Safety Considerations:
Use child-safe scissors and supervise glue and paint use as needed.
