Procedures/Strategies:

This activity originates from a tradition of Aboriginal people of Australia. Story stones are painted stones kept in a small pouch and used as a tool to tell stories.

a. Have a nature walk and collect small rocks (big enough to draw an object, word, character)

b. After cleaning the rock, have children to draw on the rock any word or object that will be creatively used in a story.

c. After it dries, place all the rocks to the pouch.

d. Have children pull out one rock and line them up to make collective stories out of the words/objects. They can be in a team or one large group.
