· Magazines or printed images

· Large sheets of paper or cardboard

· Scissors

· Glue or mod podge

· Markers or crayons

· Optional: Small figurines or toys representing community helpers

Procedures/Strategies:

1. Introduction (Discussion and Reflection):

Begin with a group discussion about community helpers. Talk about the different roles they play in the community and why they are important.

2. Providing Materials:

Set up a table with magazines or printed images that feature various community helpers (e.g., doctors, firefighters, teachers, police officers, etc.).

3. Exploring and Selecting Images:

Encourage participants to browse through the images and choose ones that represent different community helpers. Discuss why they chose specific images.

4. Creating the Collage:

Provide large sheets of paper or cardboard as the base for the collage. Invite participants to arrange and glue the chosen images onto the paper to create a collage representing various community helpers.

5. Optional: Adding Figurines or Toys:

If available, offer small figurines or toys representing community helpers. Participants can incorporate these into their collages, placing them strategically alongside the images.

6. Drawing and Labeling:

Encourage participants to use markers or crayons to add details, labels, and additional elements to their collages. This could include names, symbols, or scenes related to the community helpers.

7. Group Discussion and Reflection:

Once the collages are complete, gather the group to discuss their creations. Encourage participants to explain their choices and share what they learned about different community helpers.

8. Displaying the Collages:

Find a suitable place to display the completed collages. This could be in a common area where they can be appreciated by others.
