• Lots of cardboard (for the airplane prop)
• Duct tape (for assembling the airplane)
• Scissors (for cutting cardboard)
• Paper knife (for safety when cutting)
• Costumes or props (optional, like hats or toy suitcases)

1. Introduction: Begin by discussing the roles of people who work at the airport, such as pilots and flight attendants. Explain that they will be creating a giant airplane prop for their dramatic play.
2. Preparation: Set up a safe area for crafting the airplane. Provide cardboard, duct tape, and scissors, ensuring that all materials are safe for children to use.
3. Conducting the Activity:
· Create the Airplane Prop and Role-playing
i. Show children how to cut and assemble the cardboard to create a large airplane shape they can play in and take photos with. Encourage them to decorate it using markers or stickers if desired. Once the airplane prop is ready, invite children to take on different roles. Assign roles such as pilot, flight attendant, and passengers. Encourage them to create a flight announcement, serve pretend snacks, or simulate boarding the plane.
4. Observation and Discussion: While the children are engaged in play, observe their interactions. Afterward, gather them to discuss their experiences. Ask questions like, “What was your favorite part of being a pilot/flight attendant/passenger?” and “How did you work together as a team?”
5. Reflection: Encourage children to share their feelings about their roles. Discuss how teamwork is important in making a flight successful and how each role contributes to the overall experience.
6. Extension Activities: Set up additional role-play areas, such as an airport check-in counter or a luggage area. Provide books about airplanes and travel to reinforce the theme of community helpers in transportation.
