Butterfly Life Cycle Craft
Age: 1-3 IT
Secondary Age: 3-5 PSC/GD, 5-10 OSC
Curriculum Area: Science
Developmental Goal/Activity Objective: To learn more about the butterfly life cycle.
Materials Needed:
1. Paper plate
2. Template below (optional)
3. Whatever other utensils you need.
Procedures/Strategies:
a. Use a paper plate and the template below (or your own version of the template).
b. Have children fill in the fields for each section of the life cycle however you think will work best for them You can make it as similar or different to the image below as you need. Be sure you discuss the life cycle with children before this activity. You may want to re-read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle.
