Activity Objective: To practice art and associated fine motor skills while learning about plants, gardening and growth.

Materials Needed:

1. Construction paper

2. Scissors 

3. Glue 

4. Pencil

Procedures/Strategies:

a. Trace the children’s hands on green paper to make the leaves of the carrots. Cut this out. 

b. Rip up orange paper into smaller pieces. Let the children help. 

c. Have them glue down these pieces in the shape of a triangle (trace it out in advance on a piece of white paper).

d. Glue down the handprints at the top of the triangle to add the leaves. 

e. This can likely be adapted to suit other vegetables and plants.
