LOVE Sign for Mother’s Day
Age: 1-3 IT
Secondary Age: 3-5 PSC/GD
Curriculum Area: Art, Social/Emotional
Activity Objective: To practice creative art skills in association with Mother’s Day.
Materials Needed:
1. Paint
2. Painter’s tape or masking tape
3. Poster paper or canvas
Procedures/Strategies:
a. First, place the tape on the poster paper in the formation of the letters L O V E.
b. Then, let children paint over them.
c. This activity is great because you can experiment with different painting methods stolen from other activities or that you can think of off the top of your head. Or just work with regular brushes if you prefer.
d. Once dry, peel the tape off to reveal the word in negative space.
