Materials Needed:

• Large rock (collected from nature)

• Paint (washable, non-toxic)

• Sharpie or paint pen

Procedures/Strategies:

1. Go on a short nature walk and collect large rocks.

2. Wash the rocks and allow them to fully dry.

3. Invite children to paint the rock freely using a variety of colors.

4. Once dry, help children or educators write “My Dad Rocks” or another message using a Sharpie.

5. Send home the rock gift as a keepsake for Father’s Day.
